Proficiency testing is an effective external quality control tool for evaluating a laboratory’s analytical performance since it provides an important interlaboratory comparison and objective assessment of staff competencies, sample handling, equipment functionality, and reporting of results.
ISO /IEC 17025:2017 requirements
According to the standard ISO /IEC 17025:2017, it is a necessary requirement to demonstrate competence and validate the laboratory’s methodology and measurement procedures for accreditation by comparing the in-house results with those of a reference laboratory and/or other participating laboratories.
When participating in a proficiency testing program, identical samples are sent to several laboratories, which then analyze the samples under specified conditions. The test results obtained are collected and statistically evaluated to assess the measurement accuracy of the participating laboratories.
Successful participation in proficiency testing for vitamin analysis
To meet the accreditation requirements of the ISO /IEC 17025 standard, we participated in the proficency testing program and successfully passed the proficiency test for vitamin analysis organized by the German Reference Bureau for Interlaboratory Tests and Reference Materials-Deutsches Referenzbüro für Ringversuche und Referenzmaterialien, which is an ISO /IEC 17043 proficiency testing provider and supplier of certified reference materials.
